i had been to Athens before when I was looking at colleges, but this was my first gameday experience there
1. the Girls are unbelievable. this was the first place Ive been to that has a larger number of hot girls than LSU. it was unreal
2. the inside of the stadium was very well maintained and clean, as was the area around it
3. the fans were ok..... ran into a decent number of assholes, but most just kept to themsleves. the students were all really cool.... all of the problems came from older fans in their 40s-60s, which was stange to me.
4. the atmosphere at sanford sucks. out of all the big sec venues ive been to, this was easily the most overrated. Ive been to almost every sec stadium now and sat in the same spot in each of the stadiums, and it was one of the top 3 lamest and quietest stadiums ive been to. Miss st's was way louder the week before (although they have cow bells). I really was shocked at how non into the game the fans were and how quiet the place was for a big game.
overall, it was still a great trip and I'll definitly come back next time we play there if I'm able to.

I enjoy Athens. Great college town. Campus is nice.
Ran into some assholes, mid 20's, they were pissed about losing and acting immature.
"We're better than Louisiana people" vibe from many UGA fans. That's fine.
Tailgating is like standing in a packed bar. Hated that.
Girls are incredible, no doubt.
Basically, if you take Athens downtown and put that on the northside of LSU's campus, nothing would touch that.

Completely agree!
- I was also very unimpressed with the stadium atmosphere. Our student section drowned out theirs. Funniest thing was their students chanting overrated when they went up 7-6.
- Most of the fans were cool, especially the students. Only ran into a few mid 20's assholes who still think making Katrina jokes is funny. Loved the one about how we had to return home to the shithole that is Nola. Do they realize LSU is in BR??
- Food was pretty good! Lots of hibachi, chinese, etc places. Choo Choo's was amazing!

I've always said UGA girls>Ole Miss girls.
That was pretty much my experience in 2006. I'd definately go back.

Just from watching on TV, the crowd did seem to be blah for a really big SEc game. It was far louder for USC and even ASU. Not sure why the crowd was so lowkey. Maybe they were just buzzed and drowsy.

I thought the same, I was half drunk, but was as loud as I usually am. I honestly think a lot of the fanbase has taken on a "show me" attitude, thinking, yes we have a shot, but just how are we going to screw it up this weekend.
Every Tiger I came across was polite and good natured, even after the game. Of course I was walking as fast as humanly possible with my head down and just saying "good game" if I made eye contact.
