I actually smiled when I heard what Lane Kiffin said about Florida's coach Urban Meyer's remarks on the game Saturday.
Meyer said Sunday that he kept his game plan conservative in No. 1 Florida's 23-13 win after he felt the Vols didn't appear to be playing for a win. He also said several of his players had been hit by the flu.
"This offseason the commissioner made a big deal of renewing vows in terms of what we say about other teams, other coaches and other players" Kiffin said. "Obviously Urban feels he doesn't need to follow that. We won't say anything else."
On Monday, Kiffin said he didn't want to respond to Meyer's comment. But asked whether he was worried about the flu also hitting Tennessee, he said: "I don't know. I guess we'll wait and after we're not excited about a performance, we'll tell you everybody was sick."
I actually liked what Kiffin said. He has taken a beating from the entire SEC, but I liked that. He took Urban down a notch or so.

Kiffin is awesome, I don't care what anyone else thinks about him. His comments are very calculated and perfected placed.

Agreed. I like the one where he called out Florida for cheating and then later found out he was the one cheating. That was a classic.

Kiffin has a "losers mentality" and it shows in his comments. He seems kinda happy to just keep it close..

Everyone cheats. And having a camera present at a booster event is not a very good idea. But Urban did get pwned by these latest comments

This is dumb.
1-Meyer commented on 3 players having the flu
2-he never said it was THE reason we didn't kill TN
3-Kiffin is butthurt because most people saw that he was playing for the close loss
4-He says he not going to say anything and then says something that the commish may not like either
5-Meyer was complimentary of their team and running game
Oh well, have fun either way.

First, Kiffin runs his mouth months before the game is played.
Then, right before the game, he talks about how awesome Florida, Tebow, etc, are.

Spinning will only get you so far.
I don't think Urban was pointedly going after Lane in his comments. I think he just noted that there was no need to be aggressive when TN seemed to be in no hurry to score.
I know it can be viewed either way though and I know which way I look at it and which way TN looks at it. It's all good.
If Lane can get TN back near where they were it will be better for all of us.
