With Saban.
It's interesting though. Let's assume for a second that he does not win a NC this year, or next year, or next year ...

How many non-NC seasons does he get before he starts to get criticized for not winning with the talent? Not a flame, a serious question. I am curious what you think.

There may be some grumblings, but it won't be nearly enough to give Saban the boot.

He owns this city, and everyone knows it. We're okay with that, really. We will win a NC within a few years, and we were one quarter away from at least playing for it last year.

Maybe I am wrong but part of me says there is so much luck involved that you cant ask for NC, but an sec champ in the next 3 yrs should be expected. The practical side says that at 4mil a yr 8-4 too many yrs damn sure wont cut it.

There would be disappointment in not winning one (or more) in the next few years, however, considering where we were 4-5 years ago, I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a truly disgusted Bama fan. I was extremely disappointed with the way Bama finished out last year, but I wouldn't trade that experience at all! Saban has done an almost miraculous job in a very short period of time.

There were a lot of seasons with the Bear where we had some of the most talented teams in the country and fell short of winning it all. It happens.
