Get over it. The high ups at Auburn went behind his back in 2003 and then fired him to hire Chizik. It is almost a slap in the face to replace him with Chizik as Tubberville has been considered one of the best coaches in the country over the past decade. He earned that $5 million way before he was gone from Auburn. That is fricking business. Auburn recruits in a very odd set up and he landed such recruits as Williams, Jacobs, Brown, Rodgers, Campbell, and Dansby. That is just the tip of the ice berg of good players he coached.

From everything I have ever heard he was a players coach. I guess I could be wrong.

He took a jab at the cancer that actually runs the athletic programs.

I think Chizik will be good, but they should have hired Turner Gill.

Auburn wasn't a huge disgrace last year either. They led 9 of their games going into half time. Bama is the only team to really smoke them.

Ding Ding Ding! Tommy Tuberville has every right to say whatever the frick he wants to about Auburn. He treated the University with 10x the respect he was given over his tenure. The entire time he was there, he was constantly looking over his shoulder at who was gonna frick him over next.

I'm an alumni who gives to both academics and athletics, and will continue to support Auburn until I can no longer afford to. That being said, I'm not gonna join the typical bandwagon status quo of bashing any ex-coach. Auburn University did Tommy Tuberville wrong on so many levels, it is disgusting. Whether or not he lost his desire is a completely opposite debate, but this guy was more of an "Auburn Man" than you or I will ever be.

I know we've had our back and forths before, but with all do respect, GFY on this one AUcatfish!

I would disagree, to a point, with this. Tuberville's actions after the 2007 season, the whole "I'm duck-hunting not looking at the UArk job, and ignoring recruiting thing was at best disingenuous. While he played the university for more money, Nick Saban, you know that evil fricker in T-town, was out recruiting his arse off. After Jetgate, Tubs was given the keys to the kingdom, he wasn't looking over his shoulder, he had it locked up.

Ditto here. I am an alumnus and I give to both TUF and otherwise. But unlike you, and I frankly take offense to being called "bandwagon", I will bash a coach that does not put Auburn first. Yeah, I know, he is not from Auburn, and probably in all honesty doesn't give a flying frick at a rolling doughnut about Auburn, it was just a job, plain and simple. I, on the other hand, love Auburn University with all of my heart and soul, so I feel that I am duty bound to call someone out that does something that hurts my university. Tubs had no right or justification to say what he said. It was an asshat move plain and simple.

No, he's not. He was a coach that we hired away from Ole Miss, after making the infamous "Pine Box" speech. He is no more an Auburn Man than a bama fan that is hired to work in the electrical department at AU. He was an "Auburn Man" when it suited his purposes. My question to you would be....If Auburn loses every game this season, are you still an Auburn Man? Yes, you will be, you will still love Auburn, just like I will. Tuberville doesn't care about Auburn, he doesn't care about alum's like you, or me or any other swinging dick out there. He was doing a job, end of story.

That's fine, if that's your opinion, so be it. But let me ask you something......who is more likely to help you out or support our university or support our athletic teams? Tommy Tuberville "True Auburn Man"? Or Auburn men and women who have been supporting AU for years, who have sat through the Doug Barfield years, and the last years of Dye or the 2008 season? You can tell me to go frick myself, perhaps I am too old and too sentimental, I actually believe in the Auburn Creed, I believe in Auburn and love it. And I will do everything in my power to protect my alma mater, even if it offends people like yourself. Don't take this the wrong way, I am not attacking you or your beliefs, if that's the way you feel, God bless you. I think you're wrong, but it doesn't matter, you're an Auburn man and that I respect.
