Fulmer has been quiet about Kiffin and Tennessee, he has kept his opinion to himself of Kiffin and the program. What I don't understand is why Tubs can't do the same.

Dude, it's kind of like marrying a girl that cheated on her husband to screw you, you pretend that the bad behavior is in the past and it will never happen to you...

Get over it. The high ups at Auburn went behind his back in 2003 and then fired him to hire Chizik. It is almost a slap in the face to replace him with Chizik as Tubberville has been considered one of the best coaches in the country over the past decade. He earned that $5 million way before he was gone from Auburn. That is fricking business. Auburn recruits in a very odd set up and he landed such recruits as Williams, Jacobs, Brown, Rodgers, Campbell, and Dansby. That is just the tip of the ice berg of good players he coached.

From everything I have ever heard he was a players coach. I guess I could be wrong.

He took a jab at the cancer that actually runs the athletic programs.

I think Chizik will be good, but they should have hired Turner Gill.

Auburn wasn't a huge disgrace last year either. They led 9 of their games going into half time. Bama is the only team to really smoke them.

That is why I firmly believe that CNS is going to retire at Alabama..

Doesn't matter, it's bad manners to speak ill of anyone that gives you 5 million.

It still ended up that way. I would take Tubberville over Chizik in a heartbeat if they were my choices.

They didn't give him shite. He earned that money like every other elite coach.

You stated that it would be difficult for the staff in place to duplicate your success at Auburn. Why did you have to say that?

It will be extremely difficult. Why are you crying about your former coach telling the truth. I'll explain:

- Tuberville coached against DuBose, Franchione, and Shula before finally having to recruit against and play against Saban.

- Chizik is being thrown into the fire against Saban from day one, and will be expected to perform. Like it or not, Chizik is going to have a much more difficult time experiencing the same amount of success Tuberville did - as long as Alabama is still in "good shape" with Saban at the helm.

- There are currently 4 coaches with National Championships under their belts in the SEC.

- There is another guy by the name of Mark Richt who has turned Georgia into a powerhouse football team, and a guy by the name of Bobby Petrino who beat you guys last year with the worst Arkansas team that he'll ever coach.

- There are 3 "new coaches". 1 was an NFL head coach and seems to be a great recruiter. 1 was the offensive coordinator behind what has become the Florida juggernaut. 1 is Gene Chizik.

- When Tommy Tuberville went undefeated in 2004 with the Auburn Tigers, the SEC scene looked like this:

Alabama - Mike Shula (6-6)
Arkansas - Houston Nutt (5-6)
Mississippi State - Sylvester Croom (3-8)
Ole Miss - David Cutcliffe (4-7)
LSU - Nick Saban (8-5)
Florida - Ron Zook (7-5)
Tennessee - Phil Fulmer (10-3)
Georgia - Mark Richt (10-2)
South Carolina - Lou Holtz (6-5)
Vanderbilt - Bobby Johnson (2-9)
Kentucky - Rich Brooks (2-9)

So, as you can see, the SEC was not nearly the monster that it is now. In 2004, there were only 3 teams other than Auburn that won 8 or more games.

It's simply not logical, or in my opinion - fair - to expect or even suggest that Gene Chizik should have the same amount of success as Tommy Tuberville, and I believe that Tuberville was justified in saying so.

Ding Ding Ding! Tommy Tuberville has every right to say whatever the frick he wants to about Auburn. He treated the University with 10x the respect he was given over his tenure. The entire time he was there, he was constantly looking over his shoulder at who was gonna frick him over next.

I'm an alumni who gives to both academics and athletics, and will continue to support Auburn until I can no longer afford to. That being said, I'm not gonna join the typical bandwagon status quo of bashing any ex-coach. Auburn University did Tommy Tuberville wrong on so many levels, it is disgusting. Whether or not he lost his desire is a completely opposite debate, but this guy was more of an "Auburn Man" than you or I will ever be.

I know we've had our back and forths before, but with all do respect, GFY on this one AUcatfish!

I think Chizik will be good; however, Auburn fans need to realize they fired a great coach.

Tubberville @ Auburn

4-3 against Saban
1-3 against Miles
3-5 against Richt
2-0 against Meyer
3-1 against Spurrier

13-12 against the top 5 coaches in the SEC while he was at Auburn.

Truthful? Perhaps, but not logical or justified. One should have the good taste/good manners not to speak badly about any group/organization that gave, yes gave, you 5 million to sit on your arse.
