Why is there so much hate for the SEC?

Why do so many of the other conferences fans hate the SEC so much, its like the SEC is against the world. The top haters are Big Ten, Pac 10, Big XII, and others. Some fans from teams that we do not even play have hate for the SEC. I just don't understand it. They call the SEC top heavy, that only has one good team that is florida, all the rest of us suck, and that the gators would not have won the BCS title if they played USC last season. We must be doing something right if we have all of this hate for our conference. What do y'all think?

1. Because we have been the best conference for the past few years.
2. Our fans LOVE to remind fans of other conferences just how awesome we are.
Oh, and
3. Schools like Ohio State and USC feel like they get disrespected consistently; due in large part because of all the SEC hype and the always prevalent "would they be this good if they were in the SEC?" banter.

Pretty much the same reason why people hate usc. You get reminded about how the sec is the greatest 24/7

not to mention our new TV contracts are the envy of everyone else (less from big 10 because they have their own network). this will really kick in (the hate, that is)this year when SEC games will be regularly televised in other markets, not just the southeast. sec games will bump some more local teams. also, we were the first conference to expand and start the super-conference race. lastly, we pay our coaches better so we are attracting the best coaches. i think it is safe to say the SEC has been very proactive in elevating our football teams welfare and us southerners stick together; we holler SEC, SEC. i haven't heard any other conference do that; they just aren't that cohesive.

I also think the fact that we're Southerners really bothers them as well. To them, we're supposed to be stupid, backwards, poor, etc.
Yet, despite their prejudices against us, we keep on kicking their pussy asses in football. That's gotta kill them inside.
For the record, I work with an Ohio State fan who has confirmed my suspicion here. Whenever he talks shite about the SEC I have to remind him that Ohio State over the last few years would be middle-of-the-pack in the SEC to which he then replies with some typical "Southern people are all stupid racists" or some shite.
