I think Tebow has had a lot to do with Meyer's success.

that's a really good read, Chewy. Thank you. Another thing I'll add to that which is just as important as speedy backs is the power and depth of front 7's in the SEC. the SEC puts more front 7 guys in the NFL than any other conference. Florida has had alot of success with it b/c Tebow is an amazing player. But the 31-3 loss to Bama is more indicitive of what you are going to see when Tebow is gone unless they mix in alot of under center plays.

Guy on the radio yesterdat predicted that only UF can stop UF this year. I think some people are gonna be surprised when they visit Tiger Stadium in October. Not saying we'll come out on top, but they're in for a hell of a game. One thing about Miles - many don't like his style, but he's a tough competitor and that game in the Swamp last year eats at him.

It's going to be very interesting what happens to the spread when your 245 lb. fullback is not running it. NFL is scared to use it much because of the contact the QB takes..

WRB of course they may have to change to some more under center with Tebow gone, they were already doing lots of that before Tebow. But you are way off base to think that 31-3 is what you are gonna see once Tebow is gone. Completely different team now then it was it 05. That team had so many injuries at wr that year. Only playmaker they had was Jackson. Oline had no where near the talent or depth it has now. Was year one in a new system. You cant pick out one game to prove that something doesnt work. Also, most would assume that Meyer is smart enough to know that he cant pound Brantley into the line 15 times a game, hence all the talk of going to lots more I form next year

Gee, I guess Meyer might have to make some adjustments. You know, like he did in 06 with Leak, and every year for that matter.

How, exactly, is being under center going to stop the team from giving up 31 points? Or are you saying Florida will only be able to score around 3 points without Tebow? Either way, yoiu're retarded.

It's always cyclical. New offenses emerge and scores go up. The defenses eventually catch up. It may take a while, but it always happens.
The coaches and teams that adapt and utilize their talent best are the ones that are most successful over the long term.

Meyer is the luckiest man alive, jumped into a program with Tim Tebow, cmon

And he basically rewrote most of his offense after the 2005 season. The thing I like about Meyer most is he can, and will, adapt his offense to his players. Tebow goes out, in comes a different offensive scheme suited for Brantley.

He actually recruited Tebow, but I get your drift.

I know he recruited Tebow. I meant he rewrote his offense in 2005 specifically for Leak.

Cool the way Meyer talked before the SECCG of analyzing for the first few series how Bama would try to counter the Gator attack. Depending on Bama's approach, Meyer talked of picking plays from a series of "buckets". I give credit where it's due. Has Tebow been a once in a lifetime pickup for them? Sure. Has Meyer been brilliant at maximizing his talents? You bet.
