Kid just isn't that good.
I'll agree with your premise, though.

He's a 1st-Team SEC, 1,000 yard rusher at 140lbs soaking wet. With an average '09 his APY will be well over 3,000 yards.

Gotta give him "heart" if nothing else.

You are looking at about 15,000 All-Purpose Yards between those 4 backs and 1 of them still has an entire season to go.

He's a good running back no doubt, but he put up those stats because you didn't give the ball to anyone else in the backfield.

Ole Miss had almost twice the rushing yards last year, but we have a very deep backfield and spread the carries out. Michael Smith is good, but he's probably just the 3rd or 4th best RB in the league.

Kid has tons of heart. Petrino put the entire run game on his shoulders last year, and Smith bore it, Other than being injured for a couple days. You really have to be impressed with someone of that size playing in the SEC day in and day out. He's nowhere near as good as the other three guys you mentioned, though.

I watched this guy. The stats say he is good, but if they said he wasn't I'd still be here to tell you that he is good. That guy is a really good runningback. So, quit hatin.

Wasn't Brandon Jacobs also on the roster with them at some point?

Still wouldn't make them better than the Arky Quartet.

McFadden>Caddy
Jones>Brown
Hillis=Jacobs
Michael Smith runs unnoposed.

Damn that Houston Nutt

In all seriousness, I would rank it just ahead of Williams, Brown, Jacobs, and Smith.

I just think that Auburn's 3 (based on success then and in the NFL) is very comparable to Arkansas' 3. Throw in a 4th and Ark has it.

I'm as naive as they come when it comes to the history of SEC FB's so with my admission of being a moron out of the way:

Over his 4 years Hillis had a ton of yardage on Kick Returns and Punt Returns. He also had a significant amount of yardage and TD's from receptions as a WR as well as rushing yardage from the FB/HB position.

There may have been better FB's but I'm fairly confident his total production numbers are in the Top 5 at a minimum, with Top 3 being possible in conference stats.

The point of the thread though was

1) I'm bored

2) That's a nasty depth chart that will probably never be matched at 4 deep again, at any school.
