I never said that i was taking up for the Falcon players. But to be honest, I'm sure that Vick was good friends with his teammates. If one of your best friends got busted for a crime such as his....wouldn't you react somewhat the same(i.e. Free Vick)

And I'm not saying he doesn't care about his players at Arky, I was just stating that the letter situation doesn't help your argument what so ever.

Actually, my friends hold me accountable for my shortcomings. If I did something criminal like Vick, I am not sure we would still be friends. Same for them if the roles were reversed.

The good thing about my friends, they don't pull shite like that. They aren't felons.

I do not like the way Petrino handled the situation, he would probably do something different if he could. But I've been hot-boxed before and had to make decisions (professionally) that upon reflection later, I would do differently. That is why I don't worry about Petrino's note to the players.

It is funny, so many say BP should have been more loyal but that situation is representative of today's job market. Why would anyone owe loyalty to a company (in this case the Falcons) when you know they have a history of canning employees when it suits them (Reeves is a good example here). That thought process is incredibly naive and actually hypocritical. Specially when sports reporters/commentators start chiming in.

You need to step away and take a drink(or three).

I'm not questioning Petrino going to Arkansas. Nor am I questioning the timing that he did it. All that I mentioned is that the letter didn't help your argument of Petrino caring for his players.

And once again........I realize that the letter in no way reflects his feeling towards his current players, but the letter shows that he could have cared about the Falcon's players A LOT more.

And good for you being better than someone else. I have never been arrested either nor will i put myself in a position to be, but we are talking about prima donna NFL players here. I could go into more detail to prove my point, but it could come off as being pretty racist so i won't go there.

BP had to do what he had to do but I don' think all the negative publicity bodes well for future recruiting. He's already commiting guys this year that could be guys he commits in January. Maybe he's getting them b/c he's anticipating another losing season, I don't know.

And, I think the thing about his family not liking it there is a cop-out. His kids were enrolled in a private christian school, not some ghetto school. The organization had the put up in a nice penthouse. I'm not too sure what there was for his family not too like about it other than he was miserable. I'm sure had those players accepted him and won and Vick not gone to prison he would have stayed and his family would have been happy the whole time with his 5 million per year.
