I actually agree about OM b/c this year sets up beautifully for them with players returning and schedule. The OM fans know this too.

Agree. This is the perfect storm for us. Good talent left in the tank, easiest schedule in 30 years, strong coaching staff. I also agree that if we fail to get the the SECCG this year, it'll be 2 or possibly 3 more years until we have another chance this good (meaning favorable schedule, questions at power schools, talent at OM).

And while there will certainly be a conspicuous amount of total meltdown (myself included, was that a mushroom cloud in Mandeville?) accompanying a 7-5, 8-4 (out of west contention), I would submit that no fan base is more prepared to deal with a let down than ours.

Whatever this season turns out to be, it'll be damn exciting. 2003 was a really fun year to be a Rebel. Oxford was absolutely electric during that undefeated run in the SEC. F'ing Tigers. Had that not been an NC caliber Tigers team, we'd have our West Title and possibly a SECC to go along with it. Good times.
