Bowl elegible doesn't really mean very much any more.

Yeah but they were better than the 3 teams (UT, MSU, and Ark) I mentioned.

We did win a grand total of 0 games the year before, so those losses weren't surprising to us.

Bust by the fanbase's expectations or by the media at large?

Alabama will have a good season but not great. Their defense will likely be top 10 in most categories, but a green QB with only a single true target and a No.2 RB behind a reshuffled O-line, I can't see the offense putting up more than 15-20 a game against VT or in SEC play.

Ole Miss I hope to fall flat on their faces. The losses of Oher and Jerry are huge, and if Hardy doesn't step up like everyone claims he will, the secondary is going to be under a lot of pressure all season. Like it or not, I'm convinced that Jerry was nearly single-handedly responsible for the beatdown we received last year. Then again, the Rebel's FBS-laden schedule makes it damn near impossible to not go at least 8-4 and getting Arkansas, Alabama, and LSU at home works to their advantage.

LSU's expectations are sky-high this season, and our schedule is brutal. Then again, I can't see any losses outside of Florida, Alabama, and Ole Miss. The secondary will be fierce, Nevis and Alem will be All-SEC and the offense will be as productive it was last year and should see far fewer turnovers.

Florida is loaded and has all the tools to make it happen, but I think anyone would think that the preseason No.1 not making the National Championship would be have to be the biggest bust with the pedestal they've been placed on. If they don't win the SECCG, IMO, it'll completely overshadow anyone on a national attention stage. Then again, the only regular season game that I could see them losing is in Baton Rouge, so unless they get complacent...

I can't really say the expectations of anyone else in the SEC is such that a 7-9 win season could be considered a bust.
