It was books and merchandise. Was the merchandise also returned. Those 4 football players could have loaded up a shopping cart full of stuff.

It may have also been someone getting an extra book for a friend that was to be returned. We don't know the whole thing but the fact is someone at bama droped the ball. Who in the administration couldn't match up a bookstore invoice to a kids schedule. Who knows how long this has been going on. They only had records back to 2005 (wink wink) and that involved 201 atheletic scolly kids and every active program(16).

And bama is back on probation. Read my sig. No BCS for bama.

That is sorta my point. No way all 16 athletic programs at Bama and 201 athletes (that we know were reported) all of a sudden started basically stealing in 2005. Then the university suddenly "couldn't find" records before then.

Sure...

I didn't really think this was a big deal. Now I think there was a large level of collusion and cover up in a culture that is quite comfortable with looking the other way and covering up.

Actually, that was the value that the university placed on the improper benefits the atheletes received over the three year period.

The fact is the students weren't limited to the number of books they could 'borrow' from the bookstore (to rent to other students) and didn't even require photo ID...sound fishy for an entity in a business with a really small profit margin.

One of the major differences between the AP poll and the USA Today poll is that, since 1974, the coaches’ poll does not include teams on either NCAA or conference-sanctioned probation

So, you're pointing out that you have information that is incorrect as your sig?
