I agree, i love the history with the Georgia dome, but they should rotate the SEC championship to Nashville, Birmingham, NOLA, maybe even Jackson.

To the Longhorn who asked about distance. It is 60 miles from Gainesville and 360 miles from Athens...so not exactly halfway. However, I would be more in favor of a home and home if they moved the game out of Jax. I like Jax, though, and have no problem keeping it there as long as the SEC guarantees that both teams are given either home or away SEC games the week before. Although there were many problems with GA in the 90s, I DO think that Spurrier lobbying for an off week righty before the game was a HUGE advantage. As far as I can remember in this latest run, the years UGA has won, UF has not had an off week the week before except for last year when both teams had to play. In the Dooley years, UGA often had this same advantage. I am guessing if someone actually looked back over the years, THIS would be a very telling statistic.

Living in Metro Jackson, and working downtown, I would love to see the SECCG in Jackson, but Veteran's Memorial wouldn't be a good venue. UM Medical Center would love to get its hands on the land where the stadium now sits. The stadium is outdated and not large enough, and it is much more likely that it will be torn down with a new stadium (probably smaller capacity) for Jackson State on or near its campus being built in the future.

And while the Jackson metro has increased its hotel capacity and there are a number of good restaurants, etc., Jackson would be hard pressed to be able to accomodate two large non-Mississippi fan bases in town at the same time.

+1. B12 does it and seems to work well with KC, Dallas, S.A., & Houston. I'd substitute Tampa for B'ham & Memphis for Jackson, though.
