Or is AI just being a mean-spirited smart arse ?
Based on discussions from early 2026, the primary excuses for Missouri baseball’s struggles in the SEC center on a significant resource gap and challenging competitive circumstances compared to other top-tier schools.
Here are the main factors contributing to the poor performance:
Lowest Budget in the SEC: Missouri consistently has the lowest baseball budget in the conference by a massive margin, leaving them underfunded compared to powerhouse competitors
.
Inadequate Facilities: Taylor Stadium is widely considered to be behind the standard of other SEC baseball venues, making it harder to attract high-level talent.
NIL Disparity: The program lacks the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) funds available for baseball compared to other SEC programs.
Inconsistent Pitching: In SEC play, the team has struggled significantly on the mound, with low starter innings and a high ERA, particularly in the 2026 season.
Talent Gap: The "rich got richer" phenomenon in college baseball has left programs with fewer resources, like Mizzou, struggling to keep up with top-tier talent.
Competition and Climate: Competing in the deep SEC, combined with Missouri's weather, makes it difficult to consistently produce top-tier results

The program's only hope is that Tony V flames out in SF and returns to college. They need to throw the entire bag at him if he is let go.

Maybe "unfortunate truths" ?
Or or or...... in my case ... " truths that I hate to admit" !

Someone posted Arkansas’ Athletic Department’s revenue and expenses by sports.
They lose more in track and field/CC than is imaginable.
They generated like $6M in revenue for baseball and still lost $3-$4M.
There’s no reason for us to try to be competitive in that landscape, IMO. We could spend $2-3M more and not really close the gap at all.
