I think Chambliss made the wrong call

I’m an LSU fan and so I’m clearly bias in this situation. But, in trying to look at this objectively I think Chambliss made the wrong choice.
This years NFL QB prospects are weak. His stock is higher and with the lack of stud QB’s, he could elevate to a 2nd or possibly late 1st round pick. Next years QB draft will be stacked and it will be less likely for him to be a 1st or 2nd rounder.
Going back to Oxford could work out, but there are a lot of drawbacks:
1. Def coordinators have a lot of film on you now.
2. New head coach and almost entire new offensive staff. Coaching and continuity matters.
3. Expectations are going to be ridiculous. He could lead them to 9 wins and it would be a disappointment in the fans eyes. Winning 9 games in Oxford is rare.
4. The Kiffin shadow. Everything they do next year is going to be in an effort to prove they can be successful without Kiffin. That is a mental comparison game that is not going to help. It will only hinder.

I’m sure his agent checked out his draft value and realized his stock isn’t that high. I’m not sure he is the same guy outside of Lane’s system.

I think someone would’ve taken a chance on him high in the upcoming NFL Draft.

He'll just be granted another year and declare in '27.

I think he’s probably making 4-5mm and success in NFL will probably not happen

Weakest QB class in a long time. He might’ve snuck into the first round
