Admittedly, this is also my preferred top 5 and it mostly has to do with fit, but you might also notice a True Son theme.
LT - Atkins - He's played here his entire career. If moving him over to the right side is avoidable, avoid it. Keep him at LT and do the next thing.
LG - Green - His versatility will be his strength going into next year's draft. GMs will see the situation for what it is: a versatile, team-first player with lots of value.
C - Wilson - Most would put Dom G. here and let Wilson be the top backup IOL, but I'm reversing roles. Wilson has bided his time and is ready for the starting spot.
RG - Owens - This will be a heated battle between he and Peagler, but I think one of the MSU guys will start, and my money is on this guy.
RT - Lange/Hafer/Reichert - This is where I'm probably throwing a bit of hope into my prediction. My hope is that one of these three will step up and take the reigns, which will allow Atkins to stay put on the left side.

Understand your thinking and don't argue against it. Just don't think it will be reality. Wondering if getting Green to come here involved a promise to let him switch to the higher $$$ position of LT. Would not be too shocking if it was.
Hoping you are right about C. I think Wilson has a good bit more size than Dom G. and would not mind that at C at all.
I would really like to see more competition at RG and either push Peagler to really get past the lapses and problems or get out of the way.
I don't mind having a really proven tackle moving to the right side, given the high probability that we will have a left-handed QB.
It's all speculation right now. How far away is spring ball?

I don't see Jones moving an All conference player out of LT while putting an unknown quantity at RT with a LH QB.
Atkins was the starting LT for a playoff team in 2024. He has all the tools and Jones can coach. The edges should be in good shape.
I think Wilson wins the job in the middle. He should have got more run than he did last year. Tollison wasnt the same guy after surgery.
Lots of competition at OG which is great.

Spring ball usually starts at the end of February for us. Hopefully it brings Spring weather with it.

Jones isn't giving anyone a spot in the top 5, but last year proved that experience doesn't necessarily trump potential/ability in Jones' eyes. Early came in with plenty of experience and never saw the field, while Peagler got his shot, as did Wilson to some extent.
Like I said, there's hope in my projection, but imo if we were to see this lineup it would be ideal.

It would be great if Owens turns out to be an All-anything-level mauler at guard, right or left.
It would also be great to start reading about more competition at these spots through spring and fall ball. Keep seeing highly rated recruits and told they were big recruiting wins and then never see their names again.
