He finally recused himself. Question: will Bama have to forget/forfiet their win last night?

Their season will be voided. Watch them make a run to the F4

The rest of the judges all went to UA Law or undergrad.

It’ll run out very soon.

I wouldn't be so confident. You realize Pavia was able to play last year because of a TRO...and his underlying case still hasn't been heard. That's why these TROs against the NCAA are so important. They get signed and the case gets drug out to the point of the original issue being moot to the involved player. The NCAA season has like 2 months left. That Alabama case isn't being tried in the next 30-60 days. This is also why the forum shopping going on now is so much more important.

Can't they just have a team vote ?

And? The issue was his donor status.

The main points made by Bediako’s attorneys:
— UA isn’t a party in the lawsuit, “and the NCAA rightly concedes (the former judge) has no financial relationship with Mr. Bediako”
— UA is the largest university in the state and has the only public law school, and the filing highlighted how many judges in the state have some type of connection to UA and/or athletics. “It cannot be the case that any lawsuit that tangentially touches upon the University would result in recusal of every judge who maintains ties to the University.”
— Bediako and his camp do not have “any concern regarding the court’s impartiality” and did not oppose the motion for recusal.
quote:
The new court document notes that the "next senior judge" Allen May will reassign the case.
Before being appointed to judgeship in 2016, May was an attorney in the Tuscaloosa area for many years. He earned his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law, and earned his undergrad in business administration at Auburn.
May also has a master's degree in journalism from Missouri.
While there will be a new judge ruling in Bediako's case after May's decision, Roberts was the only Tuscaloosa Circuit Court judge who had not actually attended Alabama in some capacity.

And? Are the other judges listed as donors to the UA AD? Don’t really care if they attended law school there. They may not care for Alabama sports or sports in general.

Does the judge give money to Bama Athletics? I genuinely don’t know.

quote:Pavia received a preliminary injunction, which is what is scheduled to be heard next week in the Bediako case. The NCAA appealed but the appeal was found to be moot after the NCAA issued a waiver allowing similarly situated athletes to play in 2025.
