Portal Question

I have seen a bunch of “news” I guess we can call it about kids hopping into the portal. Not finding a home, trying to return to their school of origin and the spot is filled. So buyers remorse out there. In those instances, which probably are aplenty, is there a scholarship still in place for that student or are some of these kids now “in between” but enrolled at the original school, just with no longer covered tuition, R&B, etc?
I wasn’t sure if maybe families who really depended on the scholarship money or living situations contingent on being part of those teams all fall through now putting kids or families in a financial situation potentially?

This how free market corrects itself.... Just pain until it settles.
Nil is totally unsustainable as it is. Even Billionaires expect a form ROI. They are paying 7 figures for guys sitting the bench only to transfer the next year
Would love to hear the Raiola inside story about Nebraska is home to see ya with his uncle involved. Guessing they went to the well too often.

The Portal is also a processor* as Saban used to do so famously. Player's who do not work out are essentially cut. Mid school year. I’m not aware of anything that they can do to continue being students at the school for free unless there is a medical hardship. Scholarship agreements are 1 year pretty much. Especially with the extra kids in the mix not leaving after year three and the Covid era kids, players get processed out of D1 or the sport all together. Roster spots are coveted by coaches and admin as each spot costs a lot more $$$ now.
