How would you grade your portal/draft decision season?

Kirby and Georgia get a solid A.
Only had 2 players from this year's two-deep roster transfer, and how many teams in America can say that right now. Out of all the maybes who were thinking about entering the draft, only one did and the rest are coming back.
The last 2 seasons felt more like rebuilds and Kirby trying to figure out NIL, but that phase appears be over. Not saying that Georgia definitely is about to go back to the joyless murderball blueprint that Kirby learned from the best, but frick it. Next year we're going back to joyless murderball and the rest of the SEC can go ahead now and prepare it collective sphincter.

Kirby really didn’t make any moves in the portal. No splashes. I imagine a repeat

A. Potentially A+ before it’s over.

Beamer and UofSC gets a solid B+.
Kept Sellers, Stewart, Nick ... and our one excellent OLineman.
Brought in a bunch of highly regarded OLinemen, including the #1 OT in the portal, plus some other solid additions at WR, RB, etc.
Best pickups may have been the coaches we picked up in the portal.

I give Alabama an A.
We dropped 22 players to the transfer portal. 1 of those players was from DeBoers HS class. 2 of them were transfers that DeBoer brought in. There were 2 or 3 others that would have been welcome to stay, but the rest were players recruited by Saban that don't really fit the scheme.
According to On3, we've dropped about 5 million in NIL payments and the names aren't that big and that includes the players we have picked up. No idea how accurate that is, but it's all I have to go on.
So he's keeping players that he's recruited for his scheme and getting rid of players who are overpaid based on production and needs.
We'll also likely be picking up more players. The declare date ends today, but the recruiting period still isn't over.
Also I'm not sure how much longer these rankings are going to be relevant/useful. There probably needs to be some formula changes. Maybe they should be shifted from being more about potential to being more about production. Are 5 star HS recruits really worth the same if they aren't starting on day 1? In the past it happened sometimes that they started first year, but often times you were recruiting potential for what they would be in future years. At the same time, maybe a kid who was a 3 star coming out of HS who has been in a system and started for a few years is more valuable because of the production he can be if he's able to start right away.
So I'm not 100% sure what to make of the rankings right now. You look at what Indiana did and it's like maybe that big 5 star everyone has been going off about but hasn't got playing time really isn't worth all that money based on their production. At the same time, it still seems if you can get a guy out of HS, keep them the entire time and develop them, that is the best case.
One thing people haven't really talked about that I've seen is the amount of recruits and points teams are getting. Yesterday when I looked there were like 10 teams that had more points this year than the #1 team last year in the overall. Usually there are only about 4 teams over 300 points, this year there is 12 so far.

That is nice to keep the talent
With a coaching change we knew their would be an overhaul. Really xant believe we hit on 3 qbs. Online came on late but we got some guys that have played and played well. Even the small school guys are all conference. Some may work out. Our oline was one of the worst at any level last 2 years for short yardage. Cost us 2 games last year and 2 the year before.

I think LSU graded an A but the true results won’t be determined until the fall.
