Everyone talking about how bad DeBoer is for Alabama. If DeBoer switched places with Cignetti....does Bama win the Natty this year? Does Indiana fail to make the playoffs? Are these two coaches that many worlds apart?

Cignetti never would have been allowed to do what he did at Indiania, so no.

Yes. I think they are that far apart.

IMO there is Saban, and maybe a handful of others that are getting there, who can win consistently and all the others that have to catch lightening in a bottle with a great player.

Dabo - Lawrence
Jimbo - Winston
Meyer - Tebow
Coon A$$ - Burrow
Mack Brown - Young

Kirby, Day, and maybe Cignetti may be getting there.

I agree. Indiana lets him do whatever the frick he wants. The boosters and admin just ask what he needs and stay out of the way

He doesn’t have to deal with the politicking that coaches at bigger / more established programs have to do

And he won’t ever have to do it there
