Rickey Gibson was one we absolutely didn't want to lose.
Good get for the Aggies.
UT thought he was going to stay, but Tim Banks, Willie Martinez, and Eanest Thomas III all being sent down the road changed that. Banks being the DC, and the other two working with defensive backs.

Only played 19 snaps in 2025 due to an injury. His presence was sorely missed by UT's defense. He is an All SEC Caliber DB, and is a really good get.

There is no way you are a Tennessee fan or actually watched them the last two years lol Gibson can be a pretty good corner but he wasn’t near the corner McCoy or even Hood is. He will be a solid starter but A&M has a great defense and is probably expecting a lock down corner. You aren’t getting that in Gibson unless he takes great strides next season

No one compared Gibson to anyone. The coaching staff went to a lot of effort to keep Gibson. He has that much potential.
By the way, I have missed watching two (2) games since 1985. I listened to those two on the radio. I have been to more games than you have watcned on TV.

They wanted him. One of our weakest points is the secondary. Gibson is better than you're giving credit for.

Not all conference by any means but he was solid enough opposite MOD in ‘24 and likely would’ve been as well opposite Hood this year as well.
