But if you’re a coach what do you teach these kids about pass interference, holding and targeting? Even at times face mask? It all feels arbitrary. Im not talking about bias against certain teams but more about inconsistency. It’s always more noticeable in close games. But it is every game.

This will be talked about again in the off-season but the NCAA needs to mandate full time refs. Educated and consistent. At least as much as possible.

Targeting is the one that needs to be addressed. It's a dumb rule when it gets to the defenseless player bullshite, hitting above the shoulders.

It's not consistently called, at all. You see egregious hits that you swear would be considered targeting based on the rule not get called, then a drive later some pussy arse shite gets called. This happens to every team, because there is so much subjectivity.

If you INSIST on having this garbage, there needs to be levels similar to hitting a kicker. Incidental targeting should be like 5-10 yards, not an automatic first down, and no ejection. Malicious targeting, like crown of the helmet and launching gets the 15 yard and ejection. I'd almost say they just have to sit down the current and next drive at most. Full ejection seems too much, for a first offense anyways.

It was refreshing to not see a bunch of flags all game, but it’s pretty obvious that crew was missing calls all night.

Ole Miss and UGA average 10 penalties per game combined and we didn’t get our 3rd flag until halfway through the 4th quarter.

And it felt that way in the Bama game. I don’t think there was a flag in the first half. Missing a penalty is just as bad as inventing one. Bad calls on both Georgia and Ole Miss. However bad missed calls on both sides as well. Who really knows how many?

And don’t forget we only see what TV shows. The list of penalties can be endless from defensive holding to hands to the face and what applies when. Never be perfect but it does feel like it can be improved.

This feels like a good opportunity to remind people that his happened

I get it's a tough gig, but there's no reason it should be this bad all the time.
