Why was Chambliss not QB1 to start the season?

Haven’t kept up with the details of Ole Miss this year, and am watching the CGD piece on him.

Didn’t realize/remember that he didn’t play until mid-September.

Was Simmons supposed to be the guy until he got dinged up?

Simmons had the job. He played great when he had to step in for Dart last year. Then Simmons got hurt ( out for 2-3 weeks). Chambliss came in and looked better. So we just never went back to Simmons.

Simmons is a good QB and would be QB1 on 90% of teams out there.

Trinidad is apparently good enough to be QB1 on 91% of teams out there.

Simmons is going to have a good 2026 somewhere.

Cahmbliss played D-II ball last year; unfortunately, running all over my beloved Valdosta State Blazers in the championship game.

It wasn't like he was a blue-chip/can't miss guy coming into camp.

Ferris State repeated as champs this year without him.
