1. The G5 teams do an FCS style playoff.

2. All non playoff P4 teams participate in a bowl conference challenge giving every team a 13th game with the SEC vs B10 and the B12 vs the ACC every year which pairs each conferences’ best to worst team via conference standings.

A higher percent of the $ goes to the winning conference and the losing conference gets a lesser amount to be distributed to players like a Christmas bonus.

This year the matchups would have been better than most bowls:

Michigan vs Texas
USC vs Vandy
Iowa vs Mizzou
Illinois vs Tennessee
Minnesota vs LSU
Washington vs Kentucky
Nubs vs Florida
Northwestern vs Auburn
Penn St vs Miss St
UCLA vs SC
Rutgers vs Arky

The Bowls financially bid, competing with one another on the games for being the host sites. If a bottom threshold isn’t met then the teams themselves can bid against each other to host it.

The 4 B10 teams who didn’t make it play each other and the bowl $ gets put into the overall pot with the winning conference getting 75%.

frick all that. Go back to 4 teams and make the bowl qualifier 9 wins.

Then you will have no G5 teams in the playoff unless they had a brutal schedule, and no shitty bowls.

Youre idea is good too but the powers that be seem to want to ruin the sport.

The G5 teams ARE FBS college football too.

An SEC/Big10 breakaway is doomed for failure.

It’s basically basketball now. Have a 32 team playoff and an NIT for the next 16.
