I guess you want to get out of Elko shadow? (Not a fat joke)

He’s getting the DC tag.

Elko has been calling the defense, so it makes sense that someone wants to be an actual full coordinator

DB coach. He played at A&M, and he’s happy at A&M, but he wants to be a DC.

Yeah this wasn't a troll (fat joke aside).

I saw it assumed it was that and then wonder was that even important in coaching succession.

You see Kirby trying to give his DC credit but he seems held back on opportunities

Aggies seem to nail the OC hires

Just to be clear, we have three coaching changes on defense:

1. LBer coach/DC in name Bateman is being giving autonomy over the defense at Kentucky. Elko too over play calling on defense from him. A young coach named Lyle Hemphill is the new DC, and Arkansas’s DC from last year will be our new LBer coach. I forget his name

2. DB coach Jordan Peterson is joining Klein at KSU to be his DC.

3. DL coach Sean Spencer is reuniting with Franklin at VT. Elijah Robinson is coming home to replace him.

Does Elijah Robinson get a shot at elevated role? Homerun hire.

I think he did leverage his other offers into a co-DC title, but I’m pretty sure the plan is for Lyle Hemphill to call defense.

Travis Williams is the LB coach who was previously the Arkansas DC.

We just need one safety coach to complete the staff.

It's a great opportunity for Jordan. He's an Ag himself but I don't blame him for taking a DC role at KState.

I see it as Klein trying to put together a staff and he wants prior working relations to help stand it up at key roles. Best of luck to them both and maybe we'll see Jordan again down the road.

No. It was expected and he is being promoted to DC.
