Baton Rouge and Columbia are pretty comparable. State capitals but not the best cities in their states. Both are pretty ugly towns. Baton Rouge has hideous plants in the downtown, Columbia has a gravel pit in the middle if it. The only real difference is lsu has beaten usc in both and usc will never beat lsu in Columbia.
