Team TV Ratings 2025

This is very, very interesting. SEC has 13 of the Top 20 and the entire Top 6. FSU is a surprise at #9 due to their record.
TV ratings are fairly indicative of who are actually the elite programs in CFB these days.
Where is USC on this list? One thing is certain: the SEC dominates college football.

Hard to believe more people tuned in to watch a team that played offense like us in a disaster of a season like ours than they did to Ohio state
LSU was never as boring as it was this season

Some of us are forced to play at 11:00 on the Cartoon Network. Apples and oranges.

Absolutely what I was thinking. Also, I was shocked to see ND was having a playoff season and only barely nudged Ole Miss for #10.
No Indiana or Texas Tech on the list at all.
If you look at this as a future predictor of success and branding and ultimately performance, you’ll see that its going to be extremely difficult to be in the elite tier (however you draw that line) without being in the SEC. Only a handful of teams outside the conference are even in contention.

Is that why nobody watches or are you on the Cartoon Netwok for that very reason?

Not true. I only watched ole miss games because I bet on them knowing Kiffin was going to run it up. I have no desire to watch ole miss with Pete golding as the head coach.

Betting on games is certainly a component of TV viewership.
We, at Ole Miss, thank you for your viewership and helping our brand by BOTH betting our games and watching them as well.
Also- you have outed yourself as a degen, so you’ll be watching us next year as well.

You are welcome. I do appreciate ole Miss and Kiffin winning me money, will always be grateful.

LSU is about to vault in those rankings next year. Everyone will be wanting to see Kiffin fail.

Every Ole Miss viewer also benefits LSU because of our permanent opponent/rivalry status. I’m sure next years game will draw one if the highest ratings of the year.

LSU will vault regardless. The sick thing is it will go to the stratosphere if OM makes a deep playoff run because it will only heighten the dynamic.

A team that plays routinely in CBS/ABC/ESPN prime time etc is going to have better ratings than a team that plays on SECN or ESPN2 at with the same record.

I think we all know that. We’re taking about brands, though. Ultimately, TV exposure enhances brand. Brand translates to dollars, coaching and players. Those translate to more of the same.

And, much like the all time series, Vanderbilt owns Auburn.

And when your team plays topped watch teams your average also increases, the SEC having most of these means teams are feeding other teams ratings to a higher degree. Every team that plays Bama for instance gets a viewership boost, if that same team plays LSU and Texas or UGA, another boost. Creates a bit of a feed back loop

Yes- that’s crazy. Meanwhile, Vandy flips a 5* from UGA while AU is struggling.
Probably time for Vandy to announce a stadium expansion.

Lane elevated Ole Miss. Expect a drop there.

Yes, and that’s benefitting everyone.
Also, while parity is increasing significantly within our conference, we are also clearly separating from the others as a pack.
So, parity in CFB overall is decreasing while it’s increasing within the SEC itself.
In other words, it’s a very good time to be an SEC member.
Also, Vandy is getting hosed because perception hasn’t caught up to the reality off the moment.

And the SEC adding another game will likely widen the gap even farther

Well you got to play Alabama, so that skewed your numbers a bit.
