Is Pete Golding the one Bama and Legend hated? What is his background?

His time at UA in the role of DC was less than stellar. He’s not truly awful like he is made out to be, but he is a few steps down from the Kirby to Pruitt run we had. He loves delayed blitzes that never work, and he has a real propensity to give up 3rd and long conversions.

Pete has done better since leaving Saban.

He had to run Saban’s defense and he sucked at it.

Out of Saban and Kirby’s mouths, he’s one of the most knowledgeable coaches out there. Him and Saban just couldn’t get off the field on 3rd down. Some things just don’t mesh.

Wasn’t he the DC that everyone said had a great scheme but it was too difficult to get the kids there to understand it?

Yeah sure, Saban was trying to get him hired elsewhere
