I say 10 out 10 we get a dud for a coach. Mediocrity for another 3 years

I'd say there's a 90% chance we hire Durkin and are in this same predicament in 2-3 years.

Chance to hire a diamond in the rough, 2%. Chance that Cohen does it, 0%. Chance a good hire happens, 1%.

We hire Durkin.
Fans are unhappy.
We hold presser announcing Durkin and he speaks.
Fans start talking about how great a speech it was.
A couple of our bigger 5-7 athletes return for next season because "Durkin".
Comparisons to Dye begin in earnest amongst the fan base.
We hire another gimmicky spread offense coordinator our wise men tell us is the next big thing.
Carnell and maybe a couple of other former Auburn greats join the staff.
Recruiting sucks, but Daniels is hyped as the next coming of Jason Campbell for next year.
We turn in another losing season, but the future is bright!
Repeat coaching search in three/four years.
Auburn football is a poorly written soap opera and we've been here before.
