Unlike many posters, I will not pretend to have any insight into whether Sark will stay or go, but ...
How funny would it be?
No coach in the modern era has ever voluntarily resigned at HFC at t.u., to go coach at a better program.

AD said the Desmond report was ridiculous and news to him
Sark went on for 5 minutes about ridiculous Howard’s claim was and isn’t going anywhere
He was pretty pissed. People love to believe juicy rumors but I don’t think he’s leaving.

Desmond didn't do that on his own. He was asked to do it by Sexton, Sark or CDC....maybe all 3.
