Those who keep blaming Grubb... what would you do?

People want to blame the OL, RBs, WRs, etc.. However imagine being an OC of Alabama right now.
You have to keep calling runs to try to keep a defense honest.
However every team has their safeties closer to the box and running forward at the snap because they know your QB struggles to throw accurate fades and other deep balls.
You as the OC know this as well so part of your playbook you can't trust because you can't trust the fact your QB is going to make those throws.
This has been okay because the QB has made intermediate throws like a wizard, has processed quickly and for the most part is trying to get the ball out faster.
Then there weeks ago, he stops getting the ball out as fast as he wants to hold on to it for a bigger play.. he also begins to fumble for multiple straight games.
That accuracy on intermediate passes goes out the windows for whatever reason so you can't sustain drives anymore because he will randomly miss a key pass on a 2nd and 3rd down leading to a punt or field goal.
What do you as an OC do when you know your RBs aren't the best. You rely on your QB in this offense and his play is going south?
How the heck do you create consistent offense and keep drives going?
You can't even get quick hitting TDs because the QB keeps missing on those deep routes. It's to a point the QB basically ignores fade routes because he has no confidence in his abilities to get the ball their on time accurately

No, because what I'm saying isn't idiotic it's what is actually happening.
Just because you don't like the answer doesn't make it wrong but obviously you don't have the understanding to actually have a discussion you can only insult with your frustrations

Cant run the ball and Ty can't hit deep passes. Hard to call plays when that's the case especially in this conference
Posted on 11/16/25 at 9:30 am to YStar
I just want one of you to explain how we can run the ball if safeties are cheating up to load the box always giving our opponents more defenders than we can block?
We literally threw a pick six because their safety had so little concern about Ty throwing over his head he cheated up to cut off our WR slant!
The safety let Cuevas cross his face, wasn't concerned because he knew there was no threat of an accurate deep ball.
Yet if someone points that out you guys get mad.

I'd probably mix up the combo routes to have more switching out of bunch underneath the sticks instead of at or past it. We need a better 1-step/3-step passing attack.

I'm not blaming Grubb. I think he is handcuffed

We actually have that but at times Ty will hold on to it and not just take what's there.
He even admitted after the game that he didn't see the blitz in that INT so some credit to Skeletor for being able to hide and confuse.

Ever think maybe Ty is pressing because he’s getting absolutely no fricking help at all on offense except from Germie and Cuevas? Those are the 3 dependable cogs in our offense and one is feeling responsible for carrying the rest of the team. The OL is a dumpster fire and everyone knows it. We have no running game because of said OL plus RB’s that have no burst. And an OC that has given up on said run game because he knows it’s a fruitless endeavor. Even when we do have some success running with Hill, Grubb doesn’t give it enough attention because we are playing from behind and need points and we’re not breaking a 70 yarder. We can’t run outside because the backs that are playing can’t get to the corner quick enough so we are reduced to running between the tackles.
And opponents blitz constantly because our OL can’t seem to pick it up consistently and when they don’t, there are no damn hot routes in our genius OC’s passing game.
The passing game is struggling because only Germie and Cuevas seem to know how to get open and catch the ball consistently. Williams gets open but he can’t hold on to the ball if he catches it. And we have to go for the end zone every time and not settle for FG’s because we have a shaky kicker. So yeah, Ty is pressing.

I'd say use the TE more. Use hill more. Continue the short to intermediate passing attack and getting the te involved more...This is what joe burrow and mahomes are the best at. NFL teams don't have to establish the run to win (some do). But due to lack of depth and injuries on o line, they adapt to quicker hitting styles. Grubb and Deboer should adopt this mindset. I think ty would excel in this style.
Great post ystar.

Do some fricking coaching on M-F.

They did apparently because we out played them on defense and offense.
We lost the game because turnovers and missed kick on special teams and because our QB had turnovers and inconsistent accuracy on intermediate passes.

Ever think it makes it harder to run the ball when every defense we play use their safeties as LBs to crowd the box because they have no fear our QB can stretch the field?
Do you think if Ty was throwing accurate deep balls that it would help alleviate some of the clutter near the box and open up run lanes on the second level?

Alabama's running game is literally the worst in the history of the program.
National ranking of the running game since 2008:
2008...30th
2009...12
2010...29
2011...16
2012...16
2013...25
2014...37
2015...32
2016...12
2017...13
2018...42
2019...50
2020...48
2021...77
2022...30
2023...47
2024...47
2025...119
#119 in the country screams incompetence and ineptitude on the part of everyone that touches the running game...players and coaches. The players as a unit are bad. Coaches are incapable of coaching them up.
Even the disaster that was 2007, our runnning game was #61 in the country.
What do I do if I'm Grubb? Help DeBoer identify talent we can recruit and competent OL and RB coaches we can hire, or start looking for another job.

bullshite. We had the #114 ranked rushing offense in the country and somehow found a way to gain 30 yards below our average and sink to #119.

We "outplayed them on offense" but "lost the game on turnovers".
Do you have no clue at all how fricking stupid that sounds?

Ytard hates Simpson because he’s white. He defended Milroe last year even though he sucked arse most of the latter part of the season.

Okay, Oklahoma was worse running the ball yesterday. They won.
We didn't lose yesterday because of run game.

Well or he can wait for the Keelon kid next season and watch everyone magically start praising his brilliance.
If Ty Simpson wakes up and gets back to being accurate on intermediate passes, protects the ball and gives us some semblance of a deep ball threat we will be celebrating a National Championship and the same people insulting Grubb will be praying he doesn't leave for a head coaching job while getting redfaced and mad at anyone who reminds them about their words against the same guy earlier in the season.

There it is. The victim projecting his racism on me.
I have literally been Ty Simpson's biggest supporter and wanted him instead of Milroe last summer. I'm the guy who said Ty is THE Guy, should win the Heisman, should be the first pick, etc..
I'm the same guy who thinks if Ty wakes up we win it all... but he needs to wake the heck up.
Be a victim abd project yourself onto someone else. All you have done is speak what evil lies in your own heart.

He is THE most contrary poster on here and would argue that the sky isn’t blue. He also ALWAYS has an agenda and is completely unable or unwilling to see or believe anything that doesn’t fit his agenda.
