The story of how Brian Kelly became so hated
quote:
Brian Kelly is one of the most hated coaches in college football. In his 30+ years in the NCAA, he managed to win a lot of games & build a bad reputation in the process. In this in-depth documentary, we trace Brian Kelly's career: from his early success, the controversies, failures, & questionable moves that turned respect into resentment.

His most popular video is about a 25 year old pretending to be a 17 year old playing HS basketball
Might need to watch that
He DATED a 14 year old supposedly
Might need to watch that
quote:
In 2018, 17-year-old Rashun Richardson enrolled at Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas to play high school basketball. He dominated & quickly became a star until it was revealed that he was actually 25-year-old Sidney Gilstrap-Portley.
Sidney posed as a teenager in this unbelievable but true story of a man that went undercover as a high school basketball player.
He DATED a 14 year old supposedly

Just another Bama fan trying to troll LSU while ignoring their rivals.

Wow, def will have to see that documentary after the BK video. Your original reply made it sound like a funny story. Then your edit (update) ugh. 14 yikes!

Really well done. I watched that this morning and it was nuts.
I always knew Kelly was unlikable. He just had that air about him. Maybe it’s the yankee thing, I dunno.
But I never knew that he was truly a piece of shite. Sounds like he made a lot of enemies on his way to the “top”.

Ended up watching it and enjoying it (the video itself documenting it, dude is trash). Didn't hit on the 14 year old stuff until the end.
He denied it all of course, but screenshots from girl's mom and him are telling
Girl said they kissed and texted, nothing more (disgusting of course)
He was charged with indecency with a child, plead guilty to tampering and indecency charges and avoided jail time. 6 years of probation was his sentence. ESPN apparently canceled some kind of story on him over the whole ordeal.
Gross he got off that light.
ETA: Sorry for hijacking the thread

Nice try. WTF did LSU hire this monster? Oh, wait, he hasn’t been fired.

Just watched the Brian Kelly one.
Very interesting. It's interesting towards the end how he said similar stuff to what Beamer has said even before this disastrous year. "We won the game, what more do you want" from Kelly to "Find some joy" from Beamer
The difference obviously being LSU is committed to competing and winning, even if they get in their own way (arguably) in pursuit of that. They expect more.
It didn't really change my opinion of BK though. Outside of the death of the one kid where IMO he deserves some of the blame but not the level of criticism he gets for it, he's just a standard egotistical football coach. One of the top comments of the linked video says "Early in my coaching career, there was a running joke in the form of a question: Do head coaches become assholes or do assholes become head coaches?"
A lot of truth in that.
Successful college coaches are far and few between, especially in today's landscape. Outside of their administration issues, LSU has the pieces to be able to find the right person to make a run for a return to prominence. It may not happen on this next hire (because of the admin issues), but they won't be down for long IMO. Where that puts them in regards to the rest of the SEC remains to be seen though. It's a tough conference, as we all know.
