From a roster standpoint, which new SEC coach will be in the best shape?

Arkansas
Auburn
Florida
LSU

All these teams will have a new head coach going into the 2026 season. Assuming they can hold onto at least most of the current roster, rank from 1 to 4 who you think will be in the best shape from a roster standpoint.

Auburn

But there could be a lot of player churn depending who each team hires. LSU is a mess right now.

LSU has elite recruiting classes in 24,25, and 26 and has the checkbook for the portal

Well, their checkbook is trying to void a payout. Might make recruits and players hesitant to come or stay.

Off season is a roster purge these days. Turmoil can run off players fast. I think Auburn was a QB away from competing in SEC.

Its really just throwing darts right now because no new HC is in place and we don’t know how roster retention will go.

When Jimbo and Ed O were fired I think the Aggies and LSU were down to something like 40 players after the transfer portal. A lot of our top players like LT Overton transferred.

Our basketball team and Arkansas had zero scholarship players left after losing our coaches.

The roster attrition is going to be massive regardless of who is hired.

We won't know until we see the portal defections at the end of the year.

I would rank them LSU, Auburn, Florida, then Arkansas; however, in the days of the portal, that can all change with a good off-season haul.
