Oklahoma: congrats on a much improved season!
The only 2 blue blood teams in the SEC
2 great fanbases and programs that are serious about playing winning football.
Looking forward very much to this game. Either team could win this one

LSU is considered a “modern” blue blood by many

Well we can anchor this thread.

I wonder if the SEC refs will video review every single positive yardage play by OU like they did with LSU.

I'm sure the refs will do their best officiating they are capable of
Fans of blue blood teams don't carry on about refs well into ... what is today? ... ah, Tuesday.

I mean, since 2003 they have won 3 non consecutive national championships with 3 different coaches

I watched your full game last week.
Things that concern me: Your QB and WR's against our secondary. Specifically, our safeties. We have guys playing safety that can easily get out of position and make the wrong reads.
Our OC. He's very pass-happy like a younger version of Lincoln Riley, but even more so. He doesn't realize yet that we can run the ball and that it actually helps his offense.
Possible areas to attack for us: I'd like to see us run the ball like there's no tomorrow. Just keep pounding it until results start to happen. If we can get some balanced drives going, this will be a great game.

I will tell you that LSU is a modern major program though that status is now in jeopardy due to the current fiasco.
They don't have nearly enough national championships significantly spread out over at least a 75 year period to qualify.
So, Blue Blood status not even considered (much less just denied).

I don't see why this won't happen. Our pass defense is our strength but our run defense is our weakness. We typically give up 2-3 big runs a game and I could see OU taking one (maybe even 2) of those to the house.

We’re just going to have to disagree

All true. It is the current status of the program that is concerning. Firing the coach in midseason, I guess that has become a thing but it still has a negative connotation and it means it is all up in the air as to which way things will go moving forward.

We do that often
Not sure if you're serious but if you're a Blue Blood, then there's no delineation of "modern" or "old" or anything like that. You're a Blue Blood forever. You either are or not.
It's not an insult for a program to not be a Blue Blood

That and now not wanting to honor their commitment to pay a man who honorably served as the Captain of the ship.
That's a terrible look. But anyways, I don't want this thread to be about LSU. Not sure why a Texas A&M fan (or one who purports to be) would have brought them up in such a thread

No, there has to be change to the definition to adhere to the times
Princeton, Harvard they aren’t relevant anymore

This is a misconception. They were never blue bloods. They didn't keep their success over a 75 year period or thereabouts.

You are making up your own little criteria to exclude LSU
