Do y'all like your coordinators on the field or in the skybox?

I've never looked into if there's data showing one or the other as favorable.

I feel like logic says the booth would be better on some levels.

Most seem to have the freedom to operate from where they are most comfortable. But I want my OC in the box and my DC on the field.

With the helmet systems, I think the booth is best

Booth to helmet is obviously the way to go. Problem is it bypasses the HC. That’s why I think defensive minded head coaches are the way to go.

It's easier to assess the whole field from an elevated position.

Why would this be any different in football? Especially when reading a defense or offense.

If I was an OC I’d want to be in the booth so my boss couldn’t berate me to my face in front of the whole viewing audience if I called a bonehead play.

Every coordinator that insists on being on the sidelines has the HC's job in his sights. Or at least A HC job.

There's no logical reason for a coordinator on the sideline. Spare me the retread arguments. They need to be able to see the whole field at all times.

The HC is on the headset with both coordinators if he so chooses. Believe he can also communicate with players on the field that wear headsets.

There’s one player on offense and one on defense who can wear the headset, and communication from the coaches ceases with 15 seconds on the play clock.

Why do you think the HC can’t hear everyone on his headset?

While this is true, a lot of them have Assistant HC or Associate HC titles.

Lane Kiffin was never an Assoiciate/ Assistant HC at Alabama and was on the field at all times.

And please do not confuse “Associate/ Assistant HC” title with “Special Assistant to HC” or “Associate to Assistant HC”.

I usually tell mine to stay in the booth, unless they prefer being on the sideline.
