Went to the Bama vs UK in the Ham in 72, The UK kickoff returner can attest to meeting #47 and boy what a tackle. Everybody in that stadium knew who Woodrow was from that minute going forward. He had class.

RIP

He was one of the pioneers in integrating Bama football. I've always admired those early guys that came to play for Bear at that time. Most were total class acts that carried a ton of weight on their shoulders. Newsome, Nathan, Jackson, Mitchell, Lowe, Croom. I met all of them, and they were all as kind as they could be to a little obnoxious white kid from Tuscaloosa. God speed Mr Lowe.

Met him in the parking lot at Home Depot. I was with my dad who was wearing a Bama cap and Woodrow was parked next to us. He said “Roll Tide!” and my dad said “Roll Tide” back.
We started talking about the upcoming season and he casually slipped in that he was an alum and played for Bama.
My dad asked his name and he said “Woody Lowe.”
He was super nice and it was just such a pleasant conversation like with any other Bama fan. Great guy and he’ll be missed for sure.
