I think he told Bama "No Buyout" he'd leave if he wanted.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that was how he started his coaching career at Bama. Also highest paid coach in college at the time.......
...if it was just money uTX would have taken him away....maybe.

Damn shame to be the only reply to your own thread.
It's not like i fuk with every team.....just some. And this is not a fuk U post.

Maybe we’re just tired of talking about LSU’s next coach?

A copy of his first contract was available online and I read it. There was no mention of a buyout, which is how I assumed he controlled the meddling boosters. “F with me and I’m gone!”

Winner. Winner, chicken dinner.
Don't phuck with the process or the process will move on elsewhere.

Not many coaches would be confident enough to say I don't need or want a buyout.
If For some crazy reason LSU can convince him and momma tyo jump back to LSU...good for them.
But in my honest opinion they need a good hungry coach.

I do.
and a few other fans, like LSU also.
So you may not. But if (and it's not a probability) he decided to coach again it wouldn't be to catch a young whore like Belichick did.

Saban absolutely had a large buyout in his contract if Alabama was to fire him. Like over $30 million.
What he did not have was a buyout if he left. He could leave at any point he wanted and there was no buyout. Alabama wouldn't have been owed anything. Any school could have stolen him at any point and wouldn't have to pay anything to do it.
He's not going to LSU or any other school. He retired because he was done.

I didn't know all the details but he took control with his contract.
