2011 Arkansas State HC - Hugh Freeze
2012 Arkansas State HC - Gus Malzahn
2013 Arkansas State HC - Bryan Harsin

2014 Arkansas State HC - Blake Anderson (currently at Southern Miss)

Only because Steve Roberts hasn't coached since 2010, so even Auburn's probably unwilling to take him.

what about “hire a HC your previous HC beat in their most recent meeting”

1993 Terry Bowden (lost to Pat Dye as Samford’s HC in 1992)
1999 Tommy Tuberville (lost to Bowden as Ole Miss HC in 1998)
2021 Bryan Harsin (lost to Gus Malzahn as Arky St HC in 2013)
2023 Hugh Freeze (lost to Gus Malzahn as Ole Miss HC in 2016)

apparently that puts Dave Aranda and Bobby P on our shortlist

Blake Anderson is a good football coach.
Good dude too. Lost his wife a few years back and had a rough go.

Teams could do a lot worse.

Anderson has done a good job at USM as OC..

I have been very impressed by his head coach Charles Huff - IMO he will have a HC gig at a big time program before too long

Not sure what happened exactly with Anderson at Utah State but it never felt like it was on the up and up. The whole administrative leave deal....
I never saw a verdict so I don't know. I had the chance to meet and talk to him at some clinics when he was at A-State.
About as personable as they come for a college football coach. Down to earth Christian guy that wears his faith on his sleeve. Hard not to root for a guy like that. They were always pretty innovative on offense while he was at A-State. Never really caught lightning in a bottle at USU like he did in Jonesboro but it was also after his wife passed.... I would imagine it was hard to move forward.

Edit... was fired for "failing to comply with Title 9"..... and filed a suit against the school.
