But most importantly Coach Jordan was a World War II veteran and wounded in Normandy. He received the Purple Heart Medal and the Bronze Star.

A true American hero. He served in 4 different theaters of WWII. Received Purple Heart for being wounded during duty. I love to jab at Auburn like everyone else but Ralph Jordan was a great American! Coach Bryant once said "Shug has more courage in his little finger than I do in my entire body".
