4, in no order

It Happened on 5th Avenue
Way better than "Its a Wonderful Life" with much more interesting characters and plot. As a bonus you get to see the actor who played Jonas Grumby (the Skipper in Gilligan's Island) as a young man!

Bad Santa
Wonderful storyline and character development in a heartwarming film sure to get you stoked for the Christmas season! Cast alone is worth a look with Billy Bob Thornton, John Ritter, Bernie Mac, Lauren Graham, Tony Cox, and a young Brett Kelly in the Thurman Merman role. If that were not enough, Lauren Tom, Jay Naidu, Octavia Spenser, Ethan Phillips, and even Cloris Leachman in the lesser roles.

On a side note, a ménage à trois with Lauren Graham and Octavia Spenser could easily be on my bucket list based on the roles they play.

3 Godfathers
What if you did the nativity scene in the Bible but set it as an American western starring John Wayne. I kid you not, they made such a movie and I watch it every Christmas season!

Love Actually
Love this movie, a bit of something for everyone. Even this simple bit with Rowan Atkinson and Alan Rickman is excellent!

Wow never heard of this movie will have to watch it.

1 Office Christmas Party
2 Christmas Vacation
3 Home Alone

I try and watch one Christmas movie each year that I have never watched before but are considered classics.

Action movie, not a Christmas movie. Released to theaters in July - case closed.

Good Christmas movie. Released in November because it's a Christmas movie.

AI Overview +10 Yes, Die Hard is considered a Christmas movie by many because it is set during an office Christmas party on Christmas Eve and uses Christmas themes throughout the plot and setting, even though its director, John McTiernan, initially stated it wasn't intended to be one. While some, like star Bruce Willis, disagree, others argue the film's holiday backdrop is integral to its story, with its festive elements becoming inseparable from the action.

You just had AI generate an argument from previous arguments it's read claiming it was.

I can just generate another that says the opposite.

But even in your response the director himself said it wasn't. And again, it was the July summer action flick that comes out basically every year, especially back then.

A Christmas movie is about....wait for it.....Christmas. Bringing it, saving it, sharing it, celebrating it.

Unless you wanna go down the rabbit hole, then it's about eating magic mushrooms.

I absolutely did not generate this argument. Google it yourself. It has been on many top 10 list. I’m a Die Hard fan tho.

Yeah, I'm aware of the arguments. People didn't start calling it a Christmas movie until after it was out for like 20 years. Then suddenly people started wanted to call it a Christmas movie and it's basically the same stuff as "6-7".

3. Hogfather
4. Bad Santa

Top 4 movies that aren't Christmas movies but happen during Christmas.

1. Die Hard

Gengis Kahn may have fathered more children out of wedlock, but GCS gave him a run for his money in the modern era.

No love for the Bill Murray version?
