Grubb has been good overall, but why is he obsessed with giving the best QB in the country only one chance to convert per series? Infuriating.

Because he understands that Simpson benefits a HELL of a lot from the other team at least being weary of the running game. The Alabama tailbacks are marginal at best, but to Grubb's credit he has forced defenses to be somewhat honest by continuing to run the ball. Teams that bail on the run because their QB is really good, generally find out soon that it's hard to turn back and have any confidence in running at all when you need it and they go the route of all these other pretenders.

Gotta have some sense of balance. If we don’t develop a run game we will not win it all. And TY has not been sharpe early in this one.

Im fine with balance. But this team needs to be a pass to open up the run instead of the other way around.

But whatever, this team today seems determined to get in a slug fest with a woeful SCar.

Every time Simpson gets sacked, it’s a fumble.

Ty has only like 3 turnovers all year. He is never your problem.

And this drive proves my point. If you give Ty multiple opportunities he is going to make something happen and get rolling. He is too good to only get to pass on 3rd and 4.

He’s turned over the ball like twice this season

I’m not blaming Ty. I’m just saying our tackles suck at keeping the outside rush off him. He’s always blindsided when he’s sacked. Also, he has lost 3 fumbles in the last 3 games.

If you pass every down, the rush gets worse because the defense doesn’t expect lateral motion and can allow more gaps.

Wrong. Threw a pick to Vandy (didn’t hurt us), fumbled during a sack to Missouri, fumbled against UT, and fumbled today. The O line is to blame, but still.

ETA: also fumbled against FSU, but Bama recovered.

Interested to see what Grubb opens up the half with coming up. Let Ty play ball and go get us a TD.

Ty bailed out Grubb on 3rd down. But let’s go from here.

Grubb is absolutely fantastic and the morons insulting him in the game thread are mouthbreathing idiots who don't understand what they are watching.

How he has created ways to win when he knows we can't run is just astounding

Name calling cuz? He needs to understand our talent can and should overwhelm our opponents. Unlike his short NFL stent , and his college football coord resume

The guy called a great game in the face of knowing his OL will struggle blocking the run and you know nothing insult him because people are missing blocks, throw bad passes or dropping balls.

Actually be grateful for this man because if this was Sheridan we would have a 3rd loss.

I feel like he was holding his creative play calling back. Think they were hoping to win this game without showing anything but had to at the end. He sure wasn't calling them plays at the beginning of the game or half.
