Pat Smith@patsmithradio

6.4M viewers tuned in Saturday to ABC's coverage of Vandy/ Alabama. SEC 2:30 game had more viewers than the ACC Primetime game of Miami/FSU (6M). #ItJustMeansMore

What about Texas/Fla? I watched the game more than I watched my own team shutting down a cupcake. It was an entertaining game.

This is likely a record for Vanderbilt. Going back to 2012, here are the only Vandy games to generate 3 million viewers or more:

6.4 million- 2025 vs Alabama
4.1 million- 2012 vs South Carolina
3.6 million- 2024 vs Tennessee
3.3 million- 2018 vs Baylor

That’s it. That’s the whole list. Would be interested to know the total for their 2008 game against Auburn. Both were ranked and that was the first time Vandy had ever hosted Gameday. But I don’t have records back that far.
