My OL concern

Not another hater thread...I actually think that these guys are solid and have been praising SS the past few weeks. My concern is that the injuries aren't just bad luck, but more of an issue with player profile.
Older Dawgs will remember OL injuries ruining the 2008 season as much as Willy Martinez's crappy defense. At one point I believe either 4 or all 5 starters were out. We were significantly bigger than NFL lines at the time. And this trend continued in 2009 and 2010, before we finally shifted away from the Stacey Searles massive hulking behemoths.
My concern is that history repeats itself with SS bringing in all these huge OL. I know that sports science has come a long way, but there are still upper boundaries to human performance. What do y'all think?

I think Kirby has always endorsed having big ol maulers. He brought that with him from Saban/Bama. He has openly said, if you'll recall, that a big part of his philosophy is pounding and pounding your opponent into submission and you have to have big ol boys and lots of them (depth) to pull this off.
As far as the current situation with our OL, I'm pretty optimistic. Gaston looks like he's getting healthier by the game and he has the highest ceiling of any lineman we got. Glover must be the real deal too as a frosh to be getting so much playing time. And I'm no expert like some of ya, but aside from Bobo at C, I'd say Hughley has been the most consistent OLineman when he's got in the game. I think we can ride with these 3 guys and pray that Bobo and Morris can stay healthy.

Let's hope that players heal up, and the backups get valuable playing time. Mostly let's hope we win while all this happens. Dawgs are a good team, working on being a very good team.

I'm not sure how high our offensive line would rank in the SEC in terms of average weight. Would be interesting to compare.
