Ryan’s big drop might have been a blessing

If he caught that huge pass and walks into the end zone, Georgia would have had about a full four minutes to work with after our final scoring drive of the half. The way the defense was playing, that could have completely changed the outcome of the game. The amount of time we were able to chew following that drop was crucial.

I thought about that same thing. I agree.

That’s assuming the events after the catch minus the rest of that same drive would have played out the same way maybe the defense gets another turnover or 3 and out at that point and Bama adds another score and it’s 31-7. Point is it is never a blessing when your star receiver continues to drop open TD passes not defended.

Now that's another way to look at it.

Thought the same thing. Sometimes it’s gamesmanship

This. You never know what kind of butterfly effect can play out with a play like that, especially due to the way an early bomb affects the emotions of the game. The long pass to Prothro to open the 2005 Florida game had a huge impact on the feel of the entire game. Could have been that way with this too - we will never know.

I would like to think that bama won because of my good standing with the Lord. He knew my heart couldn't take another Ga score.
