Well, considering two years removed from the last time. Probably the same due diligence group as last time. I imagine that Norvell would be the top target this time.
Silly season: Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies upset Ohio State in Seattle this weekend and proceeds to got 12-0 and make the playoffs. Alabama once again hires UDub's head coach.

Ahead of Curt Cignetta at IU?

Yeah, he’s ancient. I don’t think he’s a serious consideration for programs like Alabama.

If DeBoer leaves for whatever reason in the near future, I want Brent Key from Georgia Tech.
That dude is a damn good coach and has had the yellow jackets playing good ball for two years now. Their record wasn’t stellar last season but there were a few games that they played in that went down to the wire and very easily could have ended up in a GT win, including the UGA game. Coach Key has them playing tough and physical again this year, with GT sitting at 4-0 and 1st place in the ACC. Working under Saban for 3 years, Key understands toughness and “the process” and I think he’d thrive here.

quote:I just checked his wiki. Yeah, he's 64, probably in his last stop. I had also forgotten he was our WR coach when Saban first got here. Neat.

I haven’t exhaustingly fact checked this but Nick Saban may be the oldest head coach hire that actually coached a game. Even Gene Stallings was younger at his hiring. Nick Saban was 55 in January 2007. Mike Price was 56.

If things dont work out with DeBoer, Id take Cignetti for a 6-8 year run in a heartbeat. Somebody’s going to. If UF is smart they’ll try to get him down in Gainsville.

We need a bump to this and get more names.

I need that guy to chime in about Jimbo Fisher or Jim Leonard to make this thread complete.

I really hope DeBoer works out...because there's no one out there that screams homerun potential hire to me.
And we'd probably stupidly agree to a $100 million buyout this time.
