It was only game 1 your defense played solid

I know how the rant gets when your team loses especially on the opener.

QB will make mistakes but the season has just started QB play will get better

Plus you have a nice schedule

Losing the first game is never fun because it makes you question everything, but for the team, it should light a fire.

We play no one with a pulse until we play at the Swamp 10/4, so we won’t know anything until then.. That’s good and bad as we have some things to work on, but no one to play to see if it’s changed.

Either way, beating Florida and going into Dallas 4-1 is the goal.

I can tell you the Swamp is a horrible place to play especially if the gator fans are fired up.
We have struggled at that place more than any other place
If Fla was good or bad always had our number lol

yeah, we haven’t played there since 1940 or something crazy

I expect a close game, but we’re gonna have to play better to get the W

October
@ Florida
vs OU in Dallas

November
@ Georgia
vs A&M

Have to go 3-1 in those games, so yeah it’s gonna be tough..

Yes about the same bad voodoo for us

I’m sure what type of witchcraft Spurrier placed on us but it’s still active

Agree with playing in the swamp. However Texas gets the luxury of playing nobody until then while Florida plays at LSU then hosts Miami the 2 weeks before. They go 0-2 in those and the swamp will be a little easier to play in. But if they split those then the swamp will be rocking.

Unfortunately, for us, Sark is still in control of the offense so we will always struggle to score against teams with a pulse. This isn't going to magically change. This is just who he is.
Bet your house on Georgia. That's my only advice.

Disagree.

We put up points at Alabama in 2023.
We put up points at Michigan in 2024.
We put up points vs Oklahoma in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024.
We put up points vs Florida in 2024.

We 100% do have red zone issues against some teams, usually the teams with better defenses, so I'll give you that, but the plays were there this past weekend.

Arch had Wingo on the cross route. He also had Wingo again on the ball he threw to Livingstone on 4th and 3 at the 9.

My hope is that the opposite of 2023 and 2024 happens this year. In both of those years, I think we performed well because Quinn was healthy and his cage hadn't been rattled yet. If we can just get to a point where the game slows down for Arch a little bit, then I think we'll be in a really good place.

It may not happen this year, but if it does, then we'll be hard to beat. Same is true for next year, but we will lose some guys on defense, so hard to say if we'll be as good next year as we have been this year and last year. Then again, I expected a drop-off after we lost Sweat and Murphy, and we got better, so who knows..

On Defense next year

Collins / Zina
January / Sharma
Watson / Terry
Vasek / Jackson

Smith + Lefau? + Atkinson as a true fresh + Barnes

CB Littleton/Roberson
CB Phillips/Black
S McDonald or DWilliams?
S Jonah? Hicks?
Star Mack/Littleton

I'm sure I'm missing some guys, but that's a pretty good unit as it is listed, despite losing HIll, Burke, Taaffe, Muhammed, DWilliams, Guilableu, Brevard, Shaw That's a lot of guys that might get drafted.

I hope you are correct about QB play but I am still very doubtful.

Man there were a few brutal youtube vids of our QB effort in that game so I guess I wasn't just the only one to notice.

You don't get this far in college football, playing for Texas and not know how to play. Dude was scouted, desired, he's been watched... he's a Manning. Arch had an off day against Patricia, a new NFL defense, no film and what should of been the #1 team to begin with.

But this week has seemed like the craziest over reaction I think I've ever witnessed. We could have won that game had Sark not regressed in the red zone again and stopped doing what what was working.

If he screws the bed tomorrow, panic. ????
