Inflation could wipe that away. Talk about bittersweet.

What do you mean? Inflation is bad and the buyout is bad. Bittersweet implies there is some positive/mixed emotions.

This is like saying “my dick caught on fire and then I was shot in the thigh. Bittersweet”

The rising cost of everything isn’t going to make paying 70 million dollars easier. It’s going to make it harder and seem really foolish because when you have to tighten your belt paying an invalid 70 million NOT to coach is even dumber than it has always been.

High inflation devalues currency. Ergo 70M suddenly becomes equivalent to 40M

I mean, I understand inflation devaluing currency, but it also makes everything more expensive and you don’t have people(boosters) willing to spend as frivolously.

When the economy is doing well and inflation is at 2% and rates are low then it’s easy for millionaires and billionaires to think they’ll just make it back in a year. But margins are tighter. Whatever their business is having to charge more to regular people who are just about tapped out. And I don’t think any of our boosters are in sectors that boom or stay steady during inflation like energy.

This isn’t going to make paying him off any more tolerable.
