Why didn't we roll.milroe out last year and let him take 15 yard drop backs.

Everyone used to complain about him not feeling the rush. Yes...well... that's because he actually stood in the pocket.
Ty is milroe without the explosiveness.
Enjoy.

Ty has enough accuracy to hit the intermediate throw. But his slow progressions and inability to anticipate throws was rough today.
Nothing we aren't used to, but little surprising.
But explains why Ty with limited snaps was never going to replace milroe last year.
This coaching staff needs to make sure someone else is getting prepared to take over

I say we roll with the freshman. Or before you know it Ty will wallow through the entire season and want to stay another year like milroe did and Ohio State grabs another one one our future qbs.

Well for one, Milroe made half as many line checks as Ty did this game alone across two years. That's part of why he had so much time in the pocket. Abysmal offensive performance, especially when we ended up 35 yards out from the endzone three times and came away with 0 points, but it wasn't anywhere as bad as Michigan or OU offensively
Would've wished we had a tune-up game before today, it's very clear Ty wasn't comfortable being asked to throw from behind on short notice

It is sad that we're at the point where we're quibbling over what unacceptable level of quarterback play was preferable.

Fair, but I don't really think QB play was even the crux of the issue today. If you're going down 24-7 within the first four possessions then you're not leaving room for efficient playcalling

Im telling you Ty Simpson and this defense means a minimum of six loses.
We need to build for the future.
The boy is a not a gamer. He's a practice field superstar.

There's building for the future and then there's panic starting a true freshman
If Keelon was some all magical spark of light, he wouldn't be third string. That's how you get a 7-6 record and at that point it doesn't matter who the hell you're starting because the situation is untenable
I'm more concerned about finding a new defensive coordinator than I am about the offense.

Defense was the major issue, but if that's what it's going to be moving forward then we are going to have to get more from our offense.
But yes defense was worse than the offense today. Kane has got to go

I think they will ease keelon into the starting role as the season progresses.
Not sure we have much choice

I doubt Keelon even sniffs that opportunity. It is incredibly rare for a true freshman to ever do such a thing, even for five stars, and it's not like Simpson himself wasn't a five star. Your mystery box freshman isn't guaranteed to be close to him play wise
He might get garbage time reps but we're not moving off Simpson for anyone other than Mack. I didn't really see anything today that makes me feel like they move off him either

Ok. I've been hearing all these glowing reports about Ty anf then I see the same guy we saw years ago against South Florida.
Just a little skeptical.
Sometimes it's best to throw the talent out there. Get him some seasoning.

In this day and age and the trajectory of the team. If we don't start him then he will likely transfer.
Obviously if they think Mack is the future then so be it.
Don't think the staff is too concerned with Simpson in the grand scheme

If you're comparing this to USF i don't think you watched USF. Not even remotely similar levels of play between then and today.
If you really want to see a blowout sure, throw out the true freshman. Don't be shocked when he looks like Dante Moore last year and you're getting blown out left and right
The Keelon transfer fears are a little unfounded. Nothing stops Deboer from telling Simpson to move on in the offseason is he feels Keelon is the better prospect at that point

This isn't 2011. You dont see studs like Rolando McClain amd Upshaw out there do you?
If we go into our league play with Greg McElroy lite under center it's going to get really ugly.

Can’t blame the QB when he’s hitting guys in the chest and they don’t catch. Our “star” 18 year old receiver dropped 3-4 passes that were easily catchable. Germie Bernard was the only reliable receiver today.

Ty has enough accuracy to hit the intermediate throw.
What game were you watching? He literally missed every throw that wasn't sideways and short.
The intermediate balls were late and always behind WRs. These seem accurate because the Bernard is making circus catches using amazing body control.
His deep balls are basically just toss up and pray.
Where is the accuracy??? I didn't see it.

This is false. Rico was open for a TD and Ty missed him.
When they break down this film and put it on YouTube some of you will finally see what some of us saw during the game.
Ty missed a lot of players because he reads way too slow. He gave up sacks because it took him too long to process. Then he did the Milroe by running backward instead of stepping up in the pocket.

You’re blaming the qb when Proctor is a massive turnstile. Saban left Bama with very little to work with on offense.

Hell Milroe at least tried to stay in the pocket. Apparently Ty has a waiver and is allowed to freelance.
