The ONLY championship that matters is the AP National Championship
Auburn still has 2
Not fooling anyone Auburn! Can’t make fake AP National Championships!

Just let us know which national championships are real and which are fake and what standards to use and we'll be good to go.

Not for the 2003 season. LSU won the national championship GAME yet the AP awarded it to USC who didn’t play in the game

AP Poll National Championships (since 1936) are the only ones that count as AP National Championships

Nah, the AP poll has been wrought with controversy throughout its history.
If USC can claim the 2003 championship Auburn can claim 2004
The majority of champions Auburn now claims are undefeated seasons.

9x National Champions and there's nothing you can say or do to change it

I agree with LSU winning the coaches poll Natty. So if you by Coaches Poll National Championships Auburn only has one (2010)

We are not talking about claims. We are talking about AP National Championships

What matters is what’s posted on the NCAA website as recognized champions.

Both schools have a rightful claim to that championship. They finished with the same record and didn’t play eachother.

2003 USC is the National Champion?
This blows up your entire argument. There can be multiple champions each year prior to the playoff era.

Agreed. Little known fact that you may have never heard since you live in So Cal: did you know LSU claims a share of that 2003 title?

There are AP National Championships and Coaches Poll National Championships (awarded the playoff trophy currently)
Everything else is a “claim”
Everything else is a “claim”

AP and UPI/Coaches/BCS equal each other.

They don’t “claim” anything LSU won the coaches poll Natty

Incorrect. USC didnt play in the national championship GAME

But was awarded the AP National Championship

Meaningless after they implemented a national championship GAME
Posted on 8/21/25 at 11:56 am to Draco Malfoy
Meaningless (depends on who you ask) they were voted on by the AP voters as the National Champions. It’s different then a school “claiming” they won a trophy
