Interesting watch from Rod Babers on a metric Sean Payton uses to evaluate QBs.

I’ve been rewatching some games from last year, and Quinn made at least one bad throw every single game.. we got lucky though because most were incompletions.. so many passes that could have been interceptions and gone the other way.
It’s also crazy how many wide open receivers he just missed..
That being said, he was pretty good in the Michigan game. The injury in the UTSA game really set him back, and I don’t think he ever got back to that level..
Arch doesn’t have to be heisman level to have a better year imo.. there’s a lot of room for improvement..
Also Tre Wisner had an amazing year.. and Gibson looked better than I remembered. Blue will be missed.

I think Quinn Ewers had an insecurity about reinjury. It makes sense because he has been injured all the way back to high school. That could frick with anyone's mindset.
On Texas Football mentioned CJ Baxter played in the scrimmage without his knee brace on, which is great news and hopefully he is ahead of schedule and feeling confident about his knee.

Waiting for the book to come out about how injured Quinn was during his time.

It's a combination of mental and physical things imo..
He just doesn't feel the pressure in the pocket, which causes his eyes to drop, and why open guys can be found, but he isn't even looking downfield. The whole thing is puzzling..
Some of his throws were so bad, I just shook my head and said wtf is that dude doing.. I think more than anything, he almost always knew where he was going to throw the ball before the snap even happened.. no progressions, no nothing..
There was a screen pass in the Michigan game where he basically did some ballet move, turned around and lobbed a screen pass in the direction of a running back.. who was covered by two different dudes, and he couldn't have possibly seen them, because there is no way that ball should have been thrown. Luckily the ball found the dirt..
I love Quinn for helping Texas out of the desert, but man, he has a lot of work to do if he wants to stick around as anything more than a clipboard holder (which is arguably the best job in the NFL).
